Ingredients:
– 500g mutton, cut into pieces
– 2 cups basmati rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes

– 2 onions, thinly sliced
– 3 tomatoes, chopped
– 4 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
– 4 tablespoons cooking oil or ghee
– Salt to taste

Saffron strands soaked in warm milk for colour (optional)

Instructions:
1. Heat the cooking oil or ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown.
2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot and sauté for another minute.
3. Add the mutton pieces to the pot and brown them on all sides.
4. Once the mutton is browned, add the chopped tomatoes to the pot and cook until they soften.
