Ingredients:
Himalayan Pink Salt, Garlic, Ginger, Cumin, Bay Leaf, Brown Cardamom, Cinnamon, Carom, Green Cardamom, Clove, Red Chili, Cane Sugar, Coriander, Turmeric, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Maltodextrin, Canola Oil, Natural and Artificial Food Flavor, Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking Agent).
Ingredients Required:
– 1 kg meat on bones (small portions)
– 3 ½ cups (750g) Basmati rice (washed & soaked)
– 3 medium onions (finely sliced)
– 3 medium tomatoes (diced)
– ½ cup cilantro (chopped)
– ½ cup mint leaves (chopped)
– 1 cup plain yogurt (whipped)
– 1 cup cooking oil (175 ml)
– 1 packet Shan Biryani Mix (mixed in ½ cup water)
Steps of Cooking:
1. Heat oil, fry onions until golden. Add meat and Shan Biryani Mix, stir fry for 5 minutes. Add yogurt and water (4 cups for beef/lamb, 2 cups for chicken). Cover and cook on low heat until the meat is tender.
2. Add tomatoes, stir fry on high heat until oil separates from the gravy. Set aside.
3. Separately, in 15 cups (3 liters) of boiling water, stir in 3 tablespoons of Shan Salt and soaked rice. Boil rice until ¾ cooked. Drain thoroughly.
4. Layer half the rice in a pot, pour the meat curry on top, and add the remaining rice. (Optional: sprinkle yellow food color). Garnish with coriander and mint leaves. Cover and cook on low heat until rice is tender (5-10 minutes). Mix and serve.
